TOPIC: Foundation "cladding"

I don't know what happened but I posted a message on Saturday but it vanished.
Anyways, according to a prior owner, the fake stone has been on there for about 20 years or so.  The condition of the "stone" gives a good indication that the foundation hasn't moved.  A few of the stones sounded a bit hollow, which makes me think that they have come loose from the foundation but most of them looked fine.  A few small cracks here and there.  It has been installed with using metal lath and mortar.
Marcel, you said that it should have had a weep screed and weep holes but if it is fastened directly to the foundation without cement board or something like that, what would a weep screed do?  In effect the "stone" just made the foundation a bit thicker but it didn't leave a space for water to get into.
Anyways, this little house appeared to me to be quite solid.  Here are a few picture of the inside of the foundation wall.  About half of it was basement and half crawl space.

Never seen one quite like that Bert. Almost looks like some sprayed on coating or glazing.
Hard to tell if this is constructed of field stones or not.
If the exterior was like that and the mesh was properly fastened, to the stone or whatever it is, there would be no weep[ screed or weep holes.
It would dry from the inside out.
Very interesting matrix, but can't identify it. Well for sure it was not capped with granite or brick on the above grade part, unless it is covered with this glazing of some sort.
Looks like it is in good shape, whatever it is. 

You are right.  This glazing or whatever it is makes it look decidedly fake.  Driving by the property, I thought it to be some sort of hard plastic. 

Very interesting thread Bert, thanks all who posted there opinions.  It may look decent, but it is most likely hiding some sort of deficiency.
