TOPIC: inspection question

Re: inspection question 15 years 7 months ago #11749

While each of us believe that we may never have a need for coverage, there is one time that you will miss something crucial and the buyers will come after you.  We all are hopefully as great as we believe, but you know what, in this economy, that really doesn't matter anymore.

I would not do inspections without insurances - I have E&O, general liability, an umbrella for contingencies, workman's comp, and a rider for my auto insurance in case something happens while in it on a job.  Will I ever need all that?  Probably not, but I have no crystal balls.  In the insurance industry, when you are most vulnerable and you have no protection, they call that "exposure."  Right now, I have NO exposure.

Hi Dennis - If you are talking about umbrella insurance, that is for personal liability, not inspection liability.  I only inspect chimneys as far as I can see them.  For what I can't see, I recommend evaluation by a  sweep!

If you are talking about the umbrella in Mary Poppins that helped the chimney sweep go magically down the chimneys, um, ... no.
