TOPIC: Looking for a good answer!

Re: Looking for a good answer! 15 years 2 months ago #20798

There are times when a buyer would WANT an engineer, electrician, etc., to come to the house to evaluate a particular issue.  You are like a general practice doctor.  At times the doctor sees something that needs a further look see, and recommends us to a specialist.

Do you know engineering stress formulas?  How to crank up a basement slab?  How warm is too warm inside a breaker box?  How to evaluate why the three-way switch is not operating correctly without going inside the wall?

A home inspector saves money two ways:  1.  By coming to the house and looking at hundreds of things to see if they are in proper order.  That saves in the short and long runs.  AND  2.  By recommending a specialist to see something that (sometimes) no one knew was a problem, getting it fixed and preventing a potentially expensive future condition.
