TOPIC: Syncing phone and tablet in HIP

I have just started to use my Android phone for inspections. I ran into a situation yesterday where I tried to switch to my tablet because Camera Zoom kept crashing and when I logged on with my tablet it didn't show the inspection available in the cloud. Isn't it suppose to sync with both devices? What am I doing wrong?

Hi Mark,

You can't move an inspection from one mobile device directly to another. You can start a new inspection on the second device and then merge the two inspections together back on the desktop though. Moving from one device to another has been discussed as a new feature in the future.

Wow, I'll tell you what Dominic, I have only done about 15 inspections and after going to the seminar in Ontario and watching you note all of the ways we waste time, after my inspection Friday I can add another whole page for you! I am trying to transition from my Galaxy 10.2 note tablet to my Galaxy S3 phone. I LOVED the idea of being able to use voice command for my narratives. First thing that I realized is that you'd better have your shit together when entering them or you have to keep adding to them. But in trying to get my inspections under 3 1/2 hours I thought that it would help. The inspection was at a surfer bungalow at the beach with shake and T-111 siding and the exterior was in bad shape. So, all of my comments were custom and unique to the home. I entered the majority of my comments through voice commands. When I uploaded the inspection none of the comments came through! The Camera Zoom app kept crashing and saying that it had stopped,so I fell back on my tablet and that didn't work. I ended up redoing ALL of the narratives that I had entered and when I went to generate the report half of the ratings and comments were gone! My wife even came in and said, "maybe this is too much for you"! What am I doing wrong? 

Hmm, that's extremely odd. Did you select the comments after adding them using the voice app? Are you using the native Android app or are you using a separate app? I've never heard of the camera zoom app. If that's a separate app I would strongly suggest removing it and using the built in app.

Camera Zoom FX? I downloaded per your recommendation when I first started Dom?

Yes, and it's a great app. The problem is that a recent update of their app seems to be crashing a lot and causing this exact issue for several users (I just answered a ticket from another inspector having this exact issue). So, uninstall the Camera Zoom FX app and see if things improve. Please make sure to let me know.
