TOPIC: Speeding up inspection and reporting

Re: Speeding up inspection and reporting 10 years 5 months ago #58047

Travis...I always take my pics in the same general order...exterior, AC, basement, Heating, electric, baths, attic, garage. Batch adding flies! For years I used a competative software, and adding photos was much slower. "Grouping" would be an additional step (IMHO).  150 photo's is alot. I typically have about 90% of my report completed on site...photos are added later.

I batch add the photos and spend the time it takes to sort each one into its section.  It would be hard to batch add bunch into one section because we do go room by room but when we walk back through a room we may notice something else.  I usually start adding pictures when Gary is doing thermal imaging. If he takes more pictures, I file them in a new folder and batch add them after. We cant do things in the same order all the time, if it's raining we start inside, if its going to be hot, we start outside, if the owners are home, we ask them what is best for them.

I do system by system modified to handle specific rooms, ie; Basement, kitchen, baths.
No, you can't always follow the exact same order...but good practice is to stick to a "similar" plan.

Do what works best for you. Yesterday I had (3)reports that needed complition when I was finished so you learn what goes smooth and efficent

Thanks for all of your guys help, sorry it's taken so long to get back. I have taken a lot of the advice here and have to say it is working out better for me. I've gotten much faster on both ends and think that I made the best choice by going with HIP!! Dom and everyone else at the company and on the forum ROCK!! I have modified my template a whole bunch and taking less photos has helped tremendously. Thanks again guys.
