TOPIC: Comments available for Photo captions?

No because they are all in the upper selection panel and I just started transferring over to eliminate the selection section because captions
does not appear in the caption drop down for selections section.

Only comments in the defect sections allow captions

We purposely do not do this in HIP as it creates a ton of white space in a report. This greatly increases the length of the report and the overall consensus is that it doesn't look as clean as pictures all over. Most sections only have a few comments with the pictures all of an inch below them. Then you have the captions directly below the photograph which you can select without typing anything as selected comments are already available as captions. This gives you the option of captioning every picture easily as well as a clean look.

I understand, and your right, it does add pages to the report. I'll just have to adjust what I'm doing a bit then.

P.S. Still hope that macros are in the future to reduce my narratives down to two or three word phrases on the tablet. . .

Andy if you build a template with the 2 defect sections and no selection section be careful.
I wasted part of night hitting 2 selection sections instead of defect  and ended up where I need to redo it all.
There is no easy way to migrate and you must redo all the comments on page at a time and one section at a time.

Thanks for the caution Bob. Most of my sections are one selection and one defect or just one defect.
Using the drop downs helps eliminate the need for two selection panels with a defect (with how I understand it now. . .). Now I'm waiting for the drop downs to work on the tablet.

Yes I am putting material comments on the top section to eliminate need for for picking them
twice because using the [caption] function I can add all material comments in the captions.

I would not do this with only one one defect section because the comments would be too massive though one option would be to have all
[caption ] comments at the bottom.
Reason that is not is good might be because when doing a narrative defect comment I can use the material comment as a begining.

[The stove has a gas shut off valve] ...which is leaking gas

Bad part is though I can make caption comments black like my material comments if there is no picture then I need to pick a color and
instead of highlighting as in a selection section must double click it over to the right doing this.

Hard to find a perfect solution here.

Having a one section (selection) and 2 (defect) section template option might help in the future
or the ability to use [caption] in the selection section.
