TOPIC: HIP - The gift that keeps giving

So I had an epiphany today. It dawned on me that I could use the double brackets [[ ]] to insert the specific code references which relate to my comments. They won't print on the report but they are always at the ready as I'm doing inspection or if someone challenges an issue I call out.

What I have found is that I will be asked about issues I call out in my report and I will look up specific references, but I never remember where they are or the exact wording. This way when I look one up I just insert it into the comment and the next time it comes up it's there ready for me to use. I also love the fact that I won't have to open another file, open another book or search on the Internet. This would be especially helpful when using the mobile version.

I'm keeping the notes from becoming cluttered by placing the initial two brackets at the end of my comment, and then skipping two lines to start the code reference and the final two brackets. So it looks something like this:

There's a large man with a red and white suit stuck at the entrance to the chimney. [[

Uniform Christmas Code (UCC) 12.25.1.A - All chimney openings must be sized appropriately to allow Christmas to be Merry]]
