I've looked around the message board and checked the animated tutorials and I can't seem to find the answers to the following questions:
1. How do you format the section title (ie. Electrical, Interior, Heating/AC) which is centered at the beginning of each section of the report? Mine is about 14pt. font and arial and it's the only thing I haven't successfully formatted yet. I've seen some other inspector's samples with this title formatted. 2. I've resized my damage panels by dragging the line between the selection and damage areas, but it doesn't stay where I put it. As soon as I go to a differen tab and come back, it is back to the middle of the page where both panels are the same height. Can the panel sizes be changed and fixed? 3. I have set my damage and selection panels to only have one column because I thought this was how you got them to scroll up and down, but several of mine are still scrolling side to side. How do I correct this? Thanks for anyone's help. |

Hi Cameron,
1. Go to Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order 2. No it doesn't save at this point. 3. They always scroll side to side for ease of use. The problem with vertical scrolling is you don't know if you've scrolled too quickly and scrolled past comments. By clicking the right arrow ONCE you know you have an entirely new column of comments. This also allows people to use multiple columns in areas like materials, manufacturers, etc which saves time. Home Inspector Pro is all about producing better looking reports in less time on site and at home. |

1. Clearly my computer screen is broke in that general area... Man, that's obvious. How did I not see that? :-[
2. Ok, I will stop trying to resize them. 3. So in must only scroll vertically if there are just a few extra comments in the column but not enough for the program to start a new column. I notice some panels scroll vertical and the long lists scroll horizontal. I couldn't figure if I had set something to do that or what. Thanks for the clarity. So the last week or so has taught me the following: Humility comes in the form of learning a new computer program. But it's getting better, familiarity is starting to creep in and the template is looking more and more to my liking. Thanks for the patient answers, I'm sure you have repeated the same answers a few thousand times over the years. |

No problem! I take stock of questions asked a lot as it means that the tutorials are lacking or something isn't easy enough to work with. So ask away.
Every once in awhile you might see a vertical scroll one or two comments. That's not supposed to happen as the program recalculates the width & height of the screen to determine the number of items per column. Click the tab name again and the screen will refresh and should correct that. |

Select the "edit comments" button and it will be on the left side of each of the panels (on whatever tab you are on) at the bottom of the options. I screen captured it for you. Cameron |
