Good luck with the photo uploads though I think a reduced resolution setting would help.
Maybe I should host my copy on line because it is that simple right?

Heck make those selection tabs a little bigger and I would go "phone" as the pinch zoom takes care of a lot.
Try and zoom an area on a tablet that fast ,though I imagine the i pad does that.Forgot I played with one on display when they came out:)
