I have HIP on 3 computers, XP, Vista and 7. Vista on the Q. They all run the same.
I use a program called cleanup and run it once a week. I have had no issues lately with Vista, make sure you run the updates. The portability of the Q is what I like the best. |

There's a user of 3D who actually made a holster for the CTL2Go. I have to email him as he was going to have to make some modifications to it after they released the larger 6 cell battery. If size is an issue, ask if they still have 4 cell batteries. You'll get about 5 hours instead of 6 but it cuts off a few ounces. Overall guys love the CTL2Go as you have a full keyboard, but the Q1 is a sweet device too. I don't know if they'll be making any more and they're definitely higher priced. The CTL2Go is also more durable. With the CTL2Go you have a handle you slide your hand through as you walk around which takes a lot of the weight off.

Hey Dom,
Are you talking about the 10 inch CTL2go, I noticed some mentioning the slate? Is this the new one that just came out. The old one that flipped for a keyboard I have no need for. I am looking for relatively small and the speed and ease of use is key. Right now I use an AHIT report program that is a, too say lightly, pain in the Ass to modify! I would have use worse language, but cleaned it up.. Any change is like writing code or programming! So I am looking to make modifications easy and a little more options in the program in the field. Right now I am very limited with the HP iPAQ I use with the AHIT because the program only has limited functions for the handheld. I do want to be able to carry my unit around pretty easy. I watched a video on the new CTL2go tablet 10 inch. And if I get the CTL2go or the Samsung Q1 which programming should I use. I know the CTL2go comes with Window 7 Home. Is this a good program software to run HIP. Right now I use a MAC split with windows on one side that is running XP PRO. This works great. Thank you for all your help! |

I noticed Dave mention he uses Vista.. AAAAHHHH! I really would prefer to stay away from Vista. I would like to get a tablet so I can download the HIP directly on to it! Oh OH, I also need to know if the tablet is easy to link up to an Apple Airport. Right now all my computers are wireless and will this be the same?

Rob, I feel your pain with AHIT.
I used to use there software. Dom can tell you, we had some nightmares with there software. He can not say as he is in the software business but AHIT is some serious crap, garbage. The Vista on my Q seems fine, just need to do updates once in awhile. I could have windows 7 installed if need be. The CTL2 is more bang for the buck and most will tell you this would be a wise choice. |

Rob you can put HIP on the Q1 running Vista or the CTL2Go tablet running XP or 7. You can get the 2GoSlate as well but the tablet is more durable and does not add much more weight.
I don't know about running AHIT on either machine and it running well. You'll be running Microsoft Office plus the AHIT software. Make sure you get the 2 gigs of ram if you go that route so that it doesn't slow down. |
