Hi Tim,
I still have not worked that out. I know upgrading to 7 broke my 3-D I had been using. hence my search for new software that didn't cost $1200! Eventually I will have all the machines running Win 7 then it should be no problem. Until then it's flash drives for me or Dropbox. |

Dom.. As Dana mentioned.. the folders / files are a different tree or format between XP and 7, right? I'm sure I can find them in each.. are the structure of the contents themselves the same to just copy and paste the contents between the two? Thanks! |

The files are in the same places in both as long as both machines are 32bit or 64 bit. If not, one will be in Program Files, the other will be in Program Files (x86). Though you can move the program too if you want.
Dropbox works great. The sync program Dana mentioned should work perfectly fine too. |

This gets confusing. Win 7 uses "libraries" now. All I know is that when I did the upgrade of Vista to Win 7, it broke some paths for 3-D and some things like printing to PDF output, my default cover page called index.r3d and such. I have not worked out how to reset them yet. In any case, I'm abandoning 3-D and moving to HIP. Getting the sync to work is a problem. Win 7 does not play nice with non-Win 7 machines on a network. I does not even see them. Kind of a bitch. I can see the Win 7 machjine from teh XP machines but not the other way around.
For now, I'm not even using the HP Convertible Tablet with Win 7 on it. It's got so many issues I'm going to take advantage of the extended warranty I bought and send it in for a full-on rebuild. I have broken keys, the SD reader won't hold the card any more and I have to hold it in by hand to get pics off of it. PITA. I'm sorry I bought it but is was done in a rush to replace a comp that smoked (a 3-year old Motion LE-1600 Slate that I loved) and I needed something to inspect on like yesterday. I was not at all happy with Vista. Win 7 is pretty nice but it needs to be "native" not an upgrade over Vista. One learns a lot under pressure and stress. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger! I grabbed a little Motion LS800 with Tablet XP on it. So far it's working sweet. |

BTW, tomorrow's the big day. I think I have my template massaged to where I want it. The output looks good. I will do my first inspection using it tomorrow. If I bomb, I will be hand writing a report on binder paper and doing the pics with crayons. LOL
Wish me luck |
