TOPIC: Syncing Computers

Home Inspector Pro doesn't care what Windows does. That's why it works well on Windows AND Mac It writes nothing to the Windows Registry. You could move the entire Home Inspector Pro folder wherever you want and it'll run fine (if it's on the desktop you'll need to make sure to check the file permissions). You can even run the program completely off a thumb drive. Quite different from other applications!

Well it went okay.  Still feeling my way around.  A bit slower than what I'm use to but then I've been using the other one for 6 years. This template still needs a lot of work.  A demo run is a lot different than a real world scenario.  Getting it sorted out though.  I'll be doing more tweaks and rewriting for several more hours as I get this report out. Sigh.

Did you create a template based on what you were using before? If not, you might feel compelled to report in the same way and order as you are used to.

I'm still working out the sequence.  I typically do all the systems and exteriors and then move inside. The layout and sequence is much different in HIP, at least with the default template.
I'm getting better and faster at manipulating the template, adding and editing comments and I am getting more familiar with where things are located.

When I used 3-D, I was working with a multi-inspector firm and somebody else had designed the layouts and the sequence.  After six years and thousands of inspections, it's a little hard to change. I purchased HIP now so I will keep tweaking until I make it my own. It's taking a while but I'm sort of enjoying it, it's a pretty creative process.

I'm just about through with my first report, just adding in captioning the pictures now. Will see with the PDF comes out like. I may be in for round two of tweaks to get it to look the way I want to.

BTW, I did finally sort out the network issues and the sharing. I am now using SyncBack Pro to sync the entire HIP directory between the two computers. That works pretty sweet.

I will have to look into.. I have a couple of different folders/systems that I would like to end up @ the desktop
