TOPIC: Do you use the ratings feature

I have been using HIP for over a year now.

I started with using the rating feature, then I decided not to use the ratings.

Do you think the report looks better with or without the ratings.

I do not like how it indents everything over to the right. I also have about 10 ratings.
This is not a problem as I only need 5 if I was to do the ratings.

I thought Dom was going to have a drop down box feature this way I save 10 lines of panel with the use of a drop down with my list of convections.

It would also be nice if comments within the selection/damage panels could be in a folder. (Like seldom used verbiage that could contain 10-50 lines of text)

The drop down boxes are mostly done and will be out soon. I've been split in too many directions lately with multiple very large features being added to HIP, a huge update for the websites and a large site I've been building for CREIA (been a 6 month project). The last 2 will be done within the next 2 weeks and then I can program full time on HIP again, sorry about the delay. I'll be showing off some of the new features at the ASHI conference this week.

My guess is the poll will come out around 70% yes, 30% no. Texas requires them by law.

I meet up with a few guys last week and one guy is interested.
One guy said he did not want to use HIP because it was to many clicks, he liked Palm Tech and combined with a program he made. I looked at his at mine/HIP compared to his final product and I like mine HIp better.

We've had many people switch from Palm-Tech, I never heard that they had more clicks. What was it that he felt caused more clicks, the lack of drop downs? I could definitely see how the program will be better once it's complete!

Actually my inspector friend stated HIP had more clicks so he decided to use a combination of his program and Palm Tech. Like I said in comparision HIP is much better.

Sounds like he didn't look at HIP very much. I had quite a few guys come up to me at the conference today who've switched from PT and who are going to and were saying it's much easier to use. It's often hard for guys to switch software that they've used for so long.

I finally got to meet Serge in person (he's as great a person live as he is on the phone and email!). He showed off his new template which looks great. As you know, he's moved away from ratings. But he's also waiting for the new drop down feature. After this conference is over I have another week to finish up the new CREIA site and then I'll be able to devote my full attention on the feature and get it completed.
