Hey Guys, I just bought a new computer and I would like to import the address book to the new machine. I see we have a export button in the address book. I thought it best to ask first before I got it all screwed up ???
Thanks, Jon |

Hi Jon,
If you're talking about the address book in Home Inspector Pro, the best way is to copy the file C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\Data\Contacts.xml from one computer to another. Your templates are also in the Data folder. |

Hi Dom,
I copied the file to a CD, when I put it in the new computer the task manager opens, but I can't find the path to C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\Data\Contacts.xml. the only option is to write these files to CD. I have XP Pro Jon |

Have you installed Home Inspector Pro on the new computer yet? I'm guessing if you copied the file to a CD then you found it on the old computer right? As long as the new computer is XP as well it would be in the same place. On some Vista machines it ends up in Program Files (x86) instead of the normal Program Files directory.

Dom,
I got it by emailing the file to myself, the proper windows opened and in a few clicks I got it! The problem I was having with the CD was I could not figure out how to get the file from the D drive to the contact file in HIP. As long as the windows open that I can click on I'm ok, but when it comes to writing a path or whatever it's called I'm lost! Thanks, Jon |

Ahh, you'd have to click on My Computer and then navigate your way there. Glad you got it working
