TOPIC: NACHI Green Inspections

I would like to offer Nachi green inspection but they cant seem to get the system up and running.  I have tried contacting them about the website and cert but they don't really seem to eager to get it finished.  So I dont offer it...

My recommendation is to make your own green checklist. The certification offered by NACHI is not an industry-recognized certification and doesn't actually prove anything, per se. You can inspect for green items, recommend things homeowners can change (i.e. switch this dangerous cleaner for hot water, etc).

we offer home energy audits and have been trained by CMC energy.  It is somewhat of a measurement and document into a computer program that they provide.  If its on it's own, starts around $275.00.  With a home inspection, $150.00.  Another ancillary product to offer people buying older homes

I will be thinking about getting into this later this year and early next year also, but I think your rates on that shouldbe higher John. $85, really, or did I read it wrong? I would think  you would be able to charge at least double that, but I may be wrong. I'll let you kknow what I come up with pricing wise. I am currently doing some research and checking out competitors in my area on this, so I'll keep you posted.

I still don't offer them because NACHI system still doesn't work.  But I have had a chance to go through the check list by now.  $85 would be too cheap.  I have since raised my regular rates, and what ever I set the price at, it would have to be higher than my update inspection costs of $95.

I should be adjusting my rates again soon if all things go well. 

Also, I hope that with me getting my Real Estate Lic (having a second income) I can raise my inspection rates high enough to make it worth while (livable income).
