Using an older version of HIP, the screens were split, further reducing what you could read.
I was using a computer with .5 meg ram and took 30 sec to display the full text as you scroll over. I gave up at that point. Still, my largest computer only has 2 gig. With several programs running (Dragon) eats this down. A spent a long time getting rid of the split screens but have yet to find the need to load up HIP with 12 yrs of inspection narratives. Anything to make finding text would be a big plus! |

HIP will never go on a 2.5" inch PDA. They aren't being sold as much anymore (Dell stopped making them) and you can only see 5 narratives at a time. The guys that have tried them, usually quit within a few months as it ends up slowing them down more than anything else.
David, Dragon is a memory hog. It would definitely slow things down. I've seen him running fine on 512mb of ram machines on its own. The latest beta version of HIP allows multiple copies to be run at once. So you could copy narratives into a separate template and literally copy and paste items (wouldn't have to edit the comment, select all, copy/paste). |
