I have it.  So will the windows disk do a scan? I enter sfc/scannow or sfc /scannow with a space?

OK I tried it and nothing happened. It flashed what looked like the command prompt screen really fast and that was it.

Seriously though, some computers come with CD's, others you have to request from the manufacturer. Look around. You need a space, sfc /scannow. Should run for an hour or so (you'll see it pop up).

I think it worked. Although it did not work in safe mode, it just flashed and did not give me the progress bar. I did some research and Bleeping Computer site said to run it without the disk in the normal mode, I got the progress bar and it ran t the end. I did not get any other messages, but the resident shield is no longer warning me about the virus. I then ran my AVG scan and it removed the virus. I wonder why it wouldn't run in safe mode?
