TOPIC: Fonts in HIP

I searched the message threads for this but have been unable to find it addressed.  I purchased some fonts for my business when my logo was first designed and I use them exclusively when producing any printed material.

The question is...  I have the font's on my computer(loaded by Windows 7 using it's font installer), but they do not show up in the font lists inside HIP.  Is there something I'm missing?  They work just fine in every other program-Word, Photoshop, Email, etc.-but they aren't accessible in HIP.  Is there anything special I need to do to make HIP recognize their existence?  The fonts are:

Optima LT Std - Opentype (otf file type)
Optima LT Std Extrablack - Opentype (otf file type)

Hi Cameron,

The program scans for all system when you start Home Inspector Pro so it should find all your fonts. At the most you might need to reboot. Let me know if that works for you!

Thanks for the quick weekend response. I gave the reboot a shot, but no luck. I think I had a similar issue with Filemaker Pro before. A long time ago I looked at ITA's software and I believe it didn't recognize these fonts either. Ehh, if they don't work, it's not the end of the world. They are installed in the windows/fonts folder. Would HIP look for fonts in any other location?

P.S. I'm on day 4 or 5 of my 30 day trial and my wife can't get me away from the computer! I've been reviewing inspection software for about three weeks and after 10-15 programs which really lack several major features, I'm addicted to HIP.  This spring I definately will get an Iphone and HIP.

Awesome, glad you're liking it Email me the fonts at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I'll take a look at them. The program works with any TTF font fine, it might have an issue with OTF fonts.

It would just look in the windows/fonts folder as it querys the system for the list of system fonts.

I just dropped the $20 and bought the truetype version of one of the fonts and sure enough, it works.
