TOPIC: What's the best AV/Spyware/Malware software available?

I've never had a problem with the MS Firewall, in fact it's all I use. I run AVG on top of that (paid version on a few machines, free on others). Honestly, the best protection is just being careful of what you open and to stop sending money to those people in Nigeria. They really don't have a billion dollars waiting for you. It's more like 50 million. Totally not worth it.

It's ironic Dom. I have never (yet) caught a virus through an email or elsewhere while surfing/researching. Both times my 'puter was infected, was through a link an inspector posted on (a) message board, or from another inspectors website.

What about Microsoft Security Essentials? I am trying it based on a recommendation from a friend. I have been having a problem with AVG, I was sending spam email from my account somehow, but AVG was not detecting anything. I ran the MSE and it got rid of it and also found a keylogger. I am just wondering if it is any better than AVG and if there are issues with the CPU usage or resource usage. I have read that some people experienced 100% CPU usage.

The problem with Microsoft products is that there are so many people / programmers out there that absolutely HATE anything to do with MS, they will do anything to crack or ruin their programs.  Except for their operating systems and Office Suite, I stay away from them, especially IE.
