TOPIC: A New Tablet!! CTL2Go

Re: A New Tablet!! CTL2Go 15 years 1 month ago #22926

Hi Guy's - I am wondering what the latest info on the ctl2go is ? I don't speak computer very well but have decided it is likely a cool device to use in the field and try to shave some time off the inspection report writing time. Has anyone started to use in the field yet? I am wondering if the 10" version is out yet and if that is something worth waiting for? I think that as I get older, the eyes just are not what they use to be.

Thanks very much

From what I've been told the 10" won't come out until after Windows 7 is released in a few days. The screen size of the CTL2go is the exact same as the ASUS T91 which several of the guys have commented on how much time it has saved in the other tablet thread.

I got mine on Thursday and will be using it for the first time in the field tomorrow.  I will let you all know how it goes.  So far I like the size, I think anything bigger would defeat the purpose.  Yes, the keyboard is small, but if I have set up my template correctly (I went through it this weekend to do just that) I should not have to use it much, if at all, during the inspection.

Thanks Dominic,
I think you also said the software we use can go back and forth from the small tablet PC to my Mac in the office. Is there much work required to get this tablet operational, remember I don't speak computer much! I will go and read the other threads as well, Thanks for the reply.

I am looking forward to hearing how it goes for Julian.

Jerry, it's very easy to go between the tablet and your mac. You just save the inspection to a thumbdrive on the tablet and open inspection on your mac.

Julian, train the handwriting recognition as well. It works great once you get it down. And unlike a PDA you can write on entire sentences rather than one letter at a time. You won't even need the keyboard for anything. Let us know how it goes!

Yes, I did train the handwriting software, but it has crashed on me twice since then, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The inspection is at 2, and then I will have an idea as to how good it turns out to be.
