TOPIC: iF YOU HAVE A COMBO- TABLET/ LAPTOP how do you use it?

I wish the program would be able to save text in the selection panel and some photos for every inspection template.
For example I have about 12 common photos and at least 2 dozen common lines of text. It would save me 10 minutes per inspection.

This is already on the to-do list.

Bob, you really have to use a tablet, not a netbook and use it for a good 10 inspections before you'll get experienced like Mark said. I've watched many guys finish complete inspections. Their library has expanded greatly and they edit comments as they go along when needed. The on-site time does increase but much less than doing an entire inspection at home increases.

I have done a couple on my notebook but I fear I could erase my info so I have been still using my check list. Only thing it takes to much time doing them all at home I have to find a happy medium.

I have canned comments but even still I find so many items as I gain more and more experience that it is time consuming.

Just working on report with 261 pictures uploaded and there is only one way to cut time which is by eliminating pictures though I find them to be my favorite method of note taking.

Sorry Dom but I work close with my clients at my side and I need to pay attention to them as I go.

That is why I am not sure tablets are for me.
That being said I will get one of them soon anyway.

If I ever feel they are a better way ,I will be the biggest groupie and report back here.

If you're worried about the battery dying on you, just keep a checklist with you in so you can continue where you left off. You can also pick up an extra battery. Make sure you save every 15 minutes or so and you can even save under multiple names as you go along if you're worried about hitting the wrong button.
