Eric, you can add your own ratings under Report Settings->Ratings and even set them to not print. If you erase all the ratings then HIP Mobile should gray properly if you simply visit the item.

I have my own ratings and use them.  If I add a rating of "Do Not Include" and set it to not print, then it would not show up in the printed report - correct?  Also, it would "gray/green" the item in HIP.  But, it would show as selected and thus, print the item in the report.  My goal is to have an item be selected in some fashion so that it "grays" in HIP Mobile but does not print in the report.  Due to a large home last week, I have Heat1, Heat2, Heat3, Heat4, AC1, AC2, AC3, AC4 (among other things) in my template.  I would like to not print them in the report if they do not exist.  The condo this morning only had one Heat/AC system.  So, I did not select anything in 2-4 and they did not print in the report.  However, they do not "gray" in HIP Mobile, which makes field notes a little more difficult.  Thanks.

Hmm, do you have a N/A rating or something?  You can't set just one rating to not print. If you have sections that don't exist in the house why does it make it harder to do field notes? I'm just trying to understand! Is the Heat2,3,4 separate pages or just separate items within one page.

I do have an N/P (Not Present) rating and have been using it when I only had 2 heat and 2 AC.  My template has an HVAC section that includes all of the heating/AC systems.  Likewise, my Plumbing section includes three water heaters.  So, if I don't choose anything on the Heat2 item, it does not gray and does not gray the HVAC section.  Thanks.

Hmm, the problem would be is that if a rating is checked off then it'll print as it thinks that the section is being used. Hmm.

I don't mean to be rude, but this sounds more complicated than it needs to be. You will end up spending extra time selecting data about systems which are not present in order to make those tabs grey so you know whether you have or have not yet completed those tabs or other tabs?

If a house doesn't have an AC2 or 3 or 4 system, why would it confuse you to have those tabs not visited and greyed out? You can ignore them completely. In the time it would take to visit and grey those tabs you could simply pause a short while longer on your AC tab and make sure it is completed before moving on. Finish it when you visit it and don't look back. Save the double checking for the proofreading you might do at the office.
