Travis if I understand you would like to be able to text edit the timy material,observation,description boxes that we all use for a
comment type separator.

Not quite sure how you would use it as we already have the 2 section issues for hard and soft.
I use the soft issues as my tips type section right now in the way you describe.(it is separated by use of color)

I think perhaps what you may want lies in using the color options.
Would love to see an example of what you are doing differently with the description boxes however.

Travis, you're doing it the difficult way! Setup an inspection exactly as you want with normally selected comments. Save the inspection. Then just File->Import/Merge Inspection into each new job. No need to use the Item Description for anything other than it's intended us.

I also use two different colors for hard and soft call outs. I do have "general info" set as call outs and always select them pretty much for every report. I would like those general items/information to be in the "comments" section. However, Dom's reply might be what I'm looking for. The catch for me is I like the smaller Italic text that I have the comments box set as and would like all of my general items/information to be that way. I could spend the time putting them all in that little box but my wish would be to be able to open the box so I can see everything while typing. Along with separating sentences, adding a hyperlink possibly, etc. in my mind the soft call outs could actually be just that...soft not serious items in the house and the hard more serious call outs can be just that. All in all call outs would be call outs (soft and hard) and the comments area would hold all informational/generic verbiage that would stay with every report. This all comes down to the "item description" box being small and not having options to work with it.

Dom, I will most certainly try the merge feature. To be honest I totally forgot about that option.
Let see if I follow you : start a report (let's call it the "merger") - select all the information/generic call outs I have for each section (select those items and those items only) - save the report as "merger" - complete a client inspection on hip mobile - send inspection to cloud - upload to laptop hip - open client inspection - merge client inspection with "merger"
At that point the client inspection call outs (mostly soft and hard only, no generic) are merged with the generic call outs from the "merger"?

My only issue (not huge deal but just a #wish) is that the general info is mixed with the soft call outs and the same color. I would not be able to have them stand alone like they would if they were in the descriptive box/comments area.

I attached a screen shot of what I have going now. Bullet point 2 and 3 would be "General info" for me.

Dom, I have been playing with merge feature. Thank you for this. Very nice feature and I am upset with myself for not paying more attention to this. I can have all of my general information "pre-loaded" to the soft call out area by simply merging with my "merger" file.
My #wish is still somewhat a wish. Being a little picky maybe, in my opinion it is a "cleaner" look to have the general information, recommendations, etc. in the comments section (descriptive text). This way it can be separate from the actual call outs pertaining to the home. They would be a different color than the actual soft and hard call outs and be "pre-loaded" on all reports. I have done this somewhat with my report already but working with the small descriptive box is daunting. More so because you can not copy and paste in that box.

If it were possible to copy and paste in that box and separate sentences the wish would be granted.

I will continue to work with the merge feature.Your hard work and dedication really shows and I appreciate all of it. I just wanted to throw this wish out there. I do not think it is high priority be any means. Just a wish. Maybe you can work on it in your free time... we all know you have plenty of it. 

Travis your graphic only shows the issues section.
Does your template have a materials section which would do exactly as you describe as being needed ?

I mean when you edit in a template you have the option off adding a selection panel
if you follow me or using 2 damage panels instead.

Travis, enable the advanced color option under Report Settings->Formatting and that will allow you to at least have those comments as a different color if you'd like.
