TOPIC: New feature request

New feature request 12 years 6 months ago #48714

Dom,
I currently use Palm Tech software and would like to switch over to HIP, however, I see that I can only produce one summary per report. I would like to be able to produce both a "needs maintenance" summary in blue, along with a health & safety summary in red. My agents and clients love getting both of these summaries. I wouldn't report on a roof leak as a health/safety issue, but they would definitely want to get it fixed right away. If I switch over, I want to produce a report that mirrors what I've done for the past ten years. Is this a feature that can be added soon? Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Steve,

Doing multiple summaries has been requested a couple of times but not enough to bring it up to the top of the list, especially with it drastically changing the simplicity of the HIP. I haven't come up with an easy way of doing this without adding more than the black/red buttons and more that 2 boxes on the right area. Adding more starts shrinking everything that's there which then makes the program harder to use (and more like what people are changing away from).

The guys that wanted this came up with a pretty easy solution though. They change red to another color. Then they add a word like SAFETY or MAINTENANCE to the beginning of the narrative. That way when it appears on the summary they can see how you rank the issue.

OK. That may work for me. Let me give it some thought.
Is it possible to link the summaries to the ratings checkbox you marked?

No because the rating is for the entire item (i.e. Kitchen->Sink) and not just the individual comment.

Hopefully there's others that will comment on this as a few guys switched to single summary from multiple and now find they like it much better.

I would have to agree that a two part summary would be a great addition to the program.  All the realtors I deal with hear in AZ want two summarys, critical and maintenence items.  They don't want the whole report, just the first couple pages and it helps to have all deficiencies noted on the front without them all being critical.  Changing colors works for now but it should be easier.  Don't add any more boxes because I aggree it would shrink everything to much.  Just add another color button and drop the comment into the same box as the red.  Maybe blue and red for the summary comments and black for general.  It just saves us that many more steps of switching colors back and forth.

Thanks for such a great program.

Have you tried using the new Advanced Coloring feature? We could add a sort based on color. The problem with a 3rd color button and box is that it won't fit on smaller screens.
