TOPIC: Multiple report summaries

Multiple report summaries 14 years 8 months ago #29567

I would like to be able to have the summary broken down into different areas.

I would like to request a copy to summary feature.

I would like my summaries to be for:

Repair/Replace
Safety
Deferred cost
Maintenance

Color options for each summary

Just an area that I would consider enhancing my report.

Open for suggestions.

OK Dom open the shark cages let them in I am ready, Oh I forgot this is a nice group of people.

Dave, I think that is a great idea. Can you create the templates like a summary and just rename them?

I have no programming knowledge, so I can't help there. But I like the idea you have.

There's an argument that can be made for more than one color in the summary page.
I also think that would be a good improvement, as far giving HIP users ,more flexability.

However, we want the client to read the entire report—after all that’s our hard work, our ‘baby’.  The summary is mostly for agents—in their contract negotiations. In the Summary page: I try not to include long narratives, and every concern in the house—less is better—otherwise, why read the report?  As home inspectors...we report—the client is ‘the decider’ on what’s important to him/her, what gets fixed—when it gets  fixed—who fixes it—and who should pay for it.

Most HIP users make the "Normal Damage" font BLUE. In the normal damage panel (Black) we include, what are less than significant deficiencies, Monitor concerns, or items for Improvement, etc.  I came up with the following paragraph added to the Summary Page document:

“This list of deficiencies is not intended to be definitive, or to determine which items need to be addressed per the contractual requirements of a real estate transaction. There may be concerns—listed in BLUE text throughout this report—that may also be deemed significant by the client. The relative importance given to each deficiency, as well as which ones should be remedied, is the decision of the client.  Any areas of uncertainty should be clarified by consulting an attorney or real estate agent.”

For my ‘two cents’ :  less is better in the summary page.
